Connections - Chapter Eight: Dresden in Flames

The Dresden Firestorm takes place in this chapter. So many lives were taken, some guilty and some innocent. Kurt Vonnegut was among the few that survived the incident. When Billy Pilgrim arrives at the German inn owned by the blind man, he and the other Americans are given food and shelter. This shows that mass destruction can bring together any enemy.

  1. Like Joey said, mass destruction brings together enemies, I think it also brings together nations and groups of people. The bombing of Dredsen reminded me of 9/11. Many people were killed and part of the city was destroyed. Like these people came together at the inn, the whole United States came together as a whole that day.
